Mohammed Abdullah (Double Aye)

Mohammed Abdullah, also known as Double Aye, is a 2D Animator and Compositor whose practice revolves around anime-inspired abstract yet fictional stories surrounding real-world concepts and commentaries about consciousness, identity, and lived experience. Born and raised in Dubai with Indian roots, his multicultural background shapes his abstract, character-driven narratives that explore both the real and the surreal. A graduate of OCAD University with a BFA (Honours) in Digital Painting and Expanded Animation, and an I.B. Diploma recipient, Double has exhibited work with TAFI, TIFF, BigArtTO, Aga Khan Museum, and other international animation showcases.

His independent series CROSSHAIR reflects his passion for blending personal commentary with fictional worlds, using characters as vessels for emotional and social reflection. Double seeks to contribute to inclusive and thoughtful creative spaces by combining strong technical skills with collaborative leadership. He strives for a creative space that bridges disciplines, embraces diverse voices, and ideas.
